Founder & Editor-in-chief, Hex Hardware · Electronics Engineer · PC Builder

I write and edit Hex Hardware. It is a one-person site, so every article here is mine. I mostly write about CPUs – overclocking, undervolting, architecture, and buying guides – and I try to explain how a part works in plain words. I also tell you when a tweak is not worth your time.

My background

I am an electronics engineer, PC builder, PC hardware reviewer, and technology writer. In college, I studied electronic components, digital electronics, C programming, and how computers work internally. That gave me a strong foundation in the hardware I write about today.

I have loved fixing things like radios, TVs, and smartphones since childhood, and that interest is what took me into electronics engineering.

Before Hex Hardware, I ran storedbits.com, a blog focused on computer storage, which I later sold. I have also written guest posts for TheSSDReview.com and other publications, and I take freelance projects in tech and computer hardware.

I check claims against manufacturer documents and research papers, and I link them so you can read the source. If you find a mistake, tell me and I will fix it.

My machines

Main PC

Intel Core i5-12600K build

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-12600K
  • Motherboard: MSI Pro Z690-A
  • Cooling: 240mm AIO liquid cooler
  • Memory: DDR5-4800

I built this PC in 2022. All my Intel overclocking and undervolting results on Hex Hardware come from this machine.

Secondary

Laptop with Intel Core i3-6006U

This one is very old – a dual-core, 15W chip from Intel's 6th generation (Skylake). I have kept it useful by upgrading it with more RAM and an SSD, and I will share those upgrade guides here.
